Nan Wang has been working on his master thesis in the integration of the high level (scheduling) and low level (process control) control applied to a miniature pipeless plant. The title of his thesis is "Robust Operation of a Pipeless Plant by means of Reactive Scheduling and Dynamic Logic Reconfiguration". He was under supervision of Prof. Engell, Stephan Fischer, and Christian Schoppmeyer and finished his thesis successfully in July, 2013.

Henry Vermue has been working on his master thesis for the European Research Project F3 - flexible, fast, future about "Medium-term production planning of flexible, multi-product modular continous processes". He was under supervision of Prof. Engell and Prof. Kockmann (Apparate Design) and finished his thesis successfully in May, 2013. His advisiors were Subanatarajan Subbiah, Daniel Kohlmann and Christian Schoppmeyer.

Lars Simora has been working on his master thesis about "Price-based Optimizing Control of Distributed Process Systems". He was under supervision of Christian Sonntag, Sergio Lucia and Christian Schoppmeyer and finished his thesis successfully in December, 2012.

Viet-Hoang Ngo and Zhiyuan Zhu, both Master Automation and Robotics students, finished their master thesis at Process Dynamics and Operation chair on June, 14th, 2012 with their oral presentation. M.Sc. Zhiyuan Zhu under supervision of Stephan Fischer investigated "Generation of Robust and Adaptable Logic Controllers Starting from Schedules given as Gantt-Charts". Mr. Zhu is originally from Shanghai, China, where he studied at the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology and finished his Bachelor thesis. The second graduate is Mr. Ngo, who is originally from Vietnam, where he also achieved his Bachelor degree. Having finished the courses of the Master Automation and Robotics degree programm, he investigated "Realization of NMPC in a Two Tanks Plant using Intexc Suite Advanced Control" under supervision of Tiago Finkler, Gaurang Shah and Daniel Haßkerl.

Mr. Chenxi Liu, a student from the master program Automation and Robotics, successfully defended his master thesis on July 28th 2012 at the Process Dynamics and Operations Group. Mr. Liu worked in the field of co-ordination based-scheduling problems and investigated on ”Bottleneck Identification of Large-Scale Complex Scheduling Problems”. He was supervised by Mr. Chaojun Xu from ABB Coprporate reseach centre - Ladenburg and by Mr. Subanatarajan Subbiah from the Process Dynamics and Operations Group. Mr. Liu is from Liaoning-China. He received his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Automation from the Dalian Univeristy of Technology in Dalian-China.

M.Sc. Reza HashemiMr. Reza Hashemi from Tabriz, Iran successfully defended his master thesis on June 21st 2012 at the Process Dynamics and Operations Group. He investigated the ”Model Predictive Control of a Continuous Polymerization Reactor” under the supervision of Daniel Kohlmann. Mr. Hashemi received his Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electrical Engineering from the Sahand Universtiy of Technology in Tabriz, Iran in 2005, before joining the Automation and Robotics program at TU Dortmund in 2009.

Milad Oshagi AbschlussMr Milad Oshaghi has successfully defended his master thesis on March 26th 2012 at the Process Dynamics and Operations Group and graduated in Process Systems Engineering Program. As the master thesis, he investigated the ”Control of Particle size distribution (PSD) in emulsion polymerization using hybrid model under mid-course correction policy” under supervision of Mr. Hosseini. Mr. Oshaghi received his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemical Engineering from the Isfahan University of Technology in 2008, before joining TU Dortmund.
