The lecture is an elective for:
- Bachelor BIW students as part of the module "Logistics of Chemical Production Processes".
- Master BIW students as part of the module "Computer Aided Process Engineering" or as part of the module "Process Automation and Process Management".
- Bachelor CIW students as part of the module "Logistics of Chemical Production Processes".
- Master CIW students as part of the module "Computer Aided Process Engineering" or as part of the module "Process Automation and Process Management".
- Master PSE students as part of the module "Computer Aided Process Engineering" or as part of the module "Process Automation and Process Management".
- Master A&R students as part of the module "Logistics of Chemical Production Processes".
The students obtain an overview of logistics problems in the chemical industry and of techniques and tools for modeling, simulation and optimization. These include discrete event simulation, equation-based modeling, mixed-integer linear programming, heuristic optimization methods and modeling and optimization using timed automata.
The students will be enabled to identify logistic problems, to select suitable tools and techniques for simulation and optimization and to apply them to real-world problems.
