In 2007, Taher received his B.Sc. in Electrical and Electronics engineering with a specialization in Industrial Electronics and Control Engineering from Minoufiya University, Egypt. Then he received his M.Sc. in Process Automation from TU- Dortmund University in 2015. He has a work experience of 2 years on the PLC based control solutions. Since February 2016, he joined the chair of Process Dynamics and Operations as a researcher to work within the MOBOCON project.
By arrangement via E-mail.
MOBOCON (Research Area: Optimization- based control of large transients with discrete manipulated variables.)
Developing algorithms and new methods to steer a chemical plant to its desired operating point with minimized losses, minimum time, reduced ecological impact and minimum unused production capacity. During start-up and shutdown operations, the process experiences switching either explicit or implicit or both due to e.g. starting new piece of equipment or switching of flows, which leads to a hybrid process. Interacting Continuous and discrete dynamics leads to a complex process which needs special algorithms combining the ones from the continuous and the discrete domains.
