Mohamed Elsheikh received his B.Sc. in Mechatronics engineering from the German University in Cairo in 2017. He wrote his Bachelor thesis with the title “Determining Stabilizing Parameter Spaces for Time Delay Systems” at the institute of Automatic control (IRT) at RWTH Aachen University. In 2017, he started his Master studies in Process Automation and Robotics at TU Dortmund. During his master studies, he carried out an internship at Bayer AG. He completed his M.Sc. in 2020 by conducting his Master thesis with the title “Multi-Rate Moving Horizon Estimation for Bioprocesses” at Bayer AG in cooperation with the Chair of Process Dynamics and Operations. Mohamed joined the Chair of Process Dynamics and Operations as a research associate since August 2020.

The innovation platform KEEN connects scientific institutions and industrial partners to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) technology to the process industry. The consortium investigates the implementation of different AI methods in the process industry regarding topics of process modelling, plant engineering and optimization of operation including the implementation of self-optimizing plants.
